*Part-Time/Per-Diem Position with assorted hours for peer lead groups and one-on-ones*

The Peer Specialist (PS) is an active member of the team and provides peer support services to clients with substance use under supervision of the clinical supervisor. The Peer Specialist will function as a role model to peers; exhibiting competency in personal recovery and use of coping skills; serve as a consumer advocate, providing consumer information and peer support for clients in outpatient and inpatient settings. The PS performs a wide range of tasks to assist peers of all ages, from young adult to old age, in regaining independence within the community and mastery over their own recovery process.
Qualifications:
Must have a High School degree or GED.
Must have the capability of learning the Electronic Health Record and be familiar with computer use.
Must have gone through the peer recovery 40-hour training and have taken all required educational classes required to meet the State of RI requirements for a Peer Recovery Specialist.
Must be working towards, have attained or maintain certification through yearly required trainings.
A valid driver’s license is required as some driving and/or transportation may be required to take clients to medical appointments, job sites, social activities and other community resources.
Must have the ability to learn the E.H.R. System and document all client and incident interactions in various parts of the software through use of the computer.
If in recovery must have been through a treatment program and be clean and sober and have no criminal activity for at least two years.

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
